Sound & Vision, Abbey Road Studios, Thursday 25th February 2010 - UK Cancer Research Charity Event
For one night only Abbey Road Studios is throwing open its doors to celebrate rock and pop, the people who make it and the images it inspires.
Once again our Patron, Bob Harris, joins Founding Patron Sir George Martin and other leading figures in music to support Cancer Research UK.
Barbara Orbison will be there to present a Gibson ES355, Soul Of Rock & Roll Box Set signed by Barbara, perfume and other Roy goodies with a Christies auctioneer. There is also a selection of Roy Merchandise available on their online auction site.

On the night guests will enjoy exclusive access to the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Champagne and canapés will be served in the studios where the Beatles recorded and where the actual piano John Lennon played still stands
Throughout the night, guests will enjoy live music performances in the intimate studio setting. Last year Paul Weller, Kelly Jones and Lemar took to the stage.
Our one-night-only exhibition of iconic music photography and artwork donated by leading photographers and designers is on show all night and available to bid on. Previous images have included the Beatles by Tom Murray, Jimi Hendrix and The Stones by Gered Mankowitz, Jim Morrison by Robert Altman and David Bowie by Alan Messer.
Guests will also have exclusive access to our live auction of music memorabilia and money-can’t-buy experiences. Previous items have included a Bee Gees Ivor Novello Award, a unique Epiphone guitar signed by heroes including Brian May and Slash and John Lennon’s dinner jacket.
One in three of us will be touched by cancer in our lifetimes. Cancer Research UK’s work has saved millions of lives in the UK and across the world. Our goal is that by 2020 two thirds of cases will be diagnosed at a time when they can be treated.
The money raised by Sound & Vision will help us get there.
Limited tickets will be available in January. Please register your interest including name, company, contact details and number of tickets required’.
Special hospitality and sponsorship packages available, please contact Frances Rowlands on 020 7438 5487 or soundandvision@cancer.org.uk for more information.
