Hi, I'm watching the Roy Orbison story again on TV and it brought back such memories. I'm 69 but as a youngster I was in a group called Kim D and the Del five.
We were on the Orbison/Walker Bros tour with Lulu. We were obviously bottom of the bill but had a great time.
During the tour Roy forgot his guitar and his road manager asked me if I would loan my Gibson 345 to Roy. I obviously said yes [oh for a camera].
After the show I learned what a perfect gentleman Roy was because rather than getting his Road manager to return the guitar he personally brought it back and thanked me personally.
Such a gentleman and such a loss!
