My own favourite Orbison performance/song is 'The Crowd' from 1962. I've thought this is the best pop record of the post-rock and roll era, say, since 1955. However, it didn't do well in Melbourne, Australia, in 1962, but fortunately still features on most 'Best of' collections.

Rather mysterious is the complete disappearance of a mid-sixties song, 'There Won't Be Many Coming Home'. Is there anybody who can give me a link to obtaining this on CD? I take it that it did better in Australia than anywhere else, and was certainly a minor hit here, probably also in Britain. Yet it is the only single from the MGM years that seems never to have been collected on a 'Best of" CD.
