Why does it not surprise me that he would have the King of Canines as a companion.

Beautiful canine and perfectly suited to you, Roy.

My GSD was a rescue from a high kill pound in Texas. My son, who was in the Air Force, told me about her and drove 1200 miles to bring her to me. Her name is Honey, a big black babe of German working stock with a beautiful mind and manners.

As I grow older and older, I never tire of your music or the joy it gives me listening to it.

When I was operating the fan club, and visited the Orbisons' home, in 1984 mostly, they had a Doberman named Blitz, a Yorkie named Crumpet, a long-haired white cat (Persian, maybe) and a long-haired black cat (ironically, my roommate has a cat who looks like the Orbisons' black cat)...I wish I could remember the cats' names. (I'm a cat person, so, I don't know why I don't remember! BTW I like dogs, too, just prefer cats as pets for myself.) Anyway, I was afraid of big dogs when growing up, thanks to one of my aunts' dog sinking his teeth into my right thigh when I was a kid! So, anyway, the first time I visited the Orbisons' home in 1982 (before I moved to Nashville), I was first introduced to Blitz and Crumpet. When Blitz came up the living room stairs to greet me, I froze and crossed my hands over my chest, a pose I had learned to do when a big dog was coming at me! Well, Blitz stopped in front of me, and leaned the side of her head against me! I was puzzled. Marie, who worked as the Orbisons' housekeeper at the time, said, "She wants you to pet her." I did, and Blitz was so friendly! So, when my more frequent visits came in 1984, I wasn't afraid of Blitz, and I also overcame my fear of big dogs!

The Orbisons didn't have the German shepherd when I was visiting there, but later on, they got a sheep dog (after Blitz crossed the Rainbow Bridge.... I met the sheep dog in 1985, my last visit there.

So, what was it like inside Roy's home? I bet it was pretty cool! Lucky you!
