James Burton
I was a short time ago on a James Burton concert here in The Netherlands in Leeuwarden.
James Burton was the guitar player next to Elvis Presley and John Denver. He did one
show together with Roy, as we all know as the A black and white night show.
He did this together with Dutch popgroup mufkin tass www.mufkintass.com and he played Crying and Oh pretty woman and the singer of Mufkin Tass did the singing part off course.
I'm not sure but is there a Roy Orbison revival on the way, because Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen sings live both Oh Pretty woman and a lot of people wear Roy Orbison sun glasses.
It is now nine years ago that Bear Family release that wonderfull CD-Box. I was still hoping for a second one with all the MGM material but I still had the feeling that the Orbison family did not give permision for this. But I still love the Soul of R&R.
Greetings,

Hi! I think that this younger generation is starting to realize how great Roy's music was and still is. It's really timeless and it's not dated to a single time in music history. Roy's music is and always will be fantastic.
HI Siebe nice to meet another fan of the great ROY ORBISON Yes the Bear Family CD box is fantastic I wonder myself why they didnt do another one It could be that Orbison Productions have plans to do something with the MGM material themselves Lets hope so They did a great job on THE SOUL OF ROCK AND ROLL
Now its time for something else new i am hanging on to hope that next year it would have been ROYS seventy fifth They give us some new material
As for a revival it seems to me younger people are starting to appreciate ROYS music on youtube for instance you get a lot of comments from young people about how much they love ROY ORBISON songs
He was well liked in the music industry because he was unique and we all know THERE IS ONLY ONE ROY ORBISON
Nice to see a fellow Dutch fan, there are quite a few.
It does almost seem that there is a Roy revival going on. I think part is maybe to thank to the Xbox 360 game Alan Wake which is reaching an entire new generation with Roy's music as "In Dreams" is playing in that game and also Roy's music now being available as online download for some music games on consoles.
And of course the release of Soul of Rock and Roll, Roy getting his star on the walk of fame. Al helping in getting Roy's name out there and enforce a renewed interest.
Me I'm only a fan for a couple of months, but wished I had been one for a longer time. But catching up as we speak.
I just hope the revival will continue and grow in force so that the entire world might learn what a fantastic singer and human being Roy was.
