I am just old enough to remember Roy being alive- but not old enough to have seen him perform- which is a source of regret for me. What an honour that would have been!
I am incredibly fussy when it comes to music. For me, someone has to be unique and enormously talented before I sit up and take notice. Standing at the top of my very short list of the best is the great Roy Orbison!But what makes him all the more special to me was his humbleness and shyness. To be in possession of such enormous vocal ability, yet having no arrogance is what seals the deal for me. Roy Orbison was, is and always will be the very best of the best.
